We are happy to note that our next event co-hosted with the Wharton Hedge Fund Network featuring a panel discussion on the convergence of hedge funds and private equity has been SOLD OUT. The event is sponsored by Willis Mergers and Acquisitions Group.
Our next event is co-organized by Wharton Private Equity Partners and the Wharton Hedge Fund Network and is open to members of either of these groups. The evening will feature a panel discussion on the convergence of the hedge fund and the private equity industries. The panel, moderated by Institutional Investor/Alpha Magazine's Michael Peltz, includes:

George Brokaw, Managing Director Private Equity, Perry Capital
George Brokaw is a Managing Director at Perry Capital in charge of Private Equity. Prior to joining Perry, George was a Managing Director of Lazard engaged in mergers and acquisition advisory across a broad range of sectors including energy and power, transportation and general industrial. In addition he was responsible for a group which structured unique financial solutions as well as financial sponsor coverage. Prior to joining Lazard, George was an Associate at Dillon Read & Co. where he was an Associate in the mergers and acquisitions department. George has a B.A. from Yale University and a JD/MBA from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the New York Bar.
Brent Leffel, Director Private Equity and Special Situations, Angelo Gordon & Co.
Brent Leffel, Director Private Equity and Special Situations, Angelo Gordon. Brent joined Angelo Gordon in 2005, where he is a Director in their private equity and special situations group. Most recently Brent led Angelo Gordon's January 2006 acquisition of Crunch Fitness from Bally's Total Fitness and its April 2006 acquisition of Kings Supermarkets from Marks & Spencer PLC. Prior to joining Angelo Gordon,Brent was a Vice President of Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, the private equity affiliate of Bear Stearns. Previously Brent was an Associate of Quad-C Management, a Virginia based private equity partnership and a Financial Analyst and Associate in the Financial Sponsor and Leveraged Finance groups of NationsBanc Montgomery Securities (now Banc of America Securities). While attending business school, Brent worked as a Senior Associate of The Carlyle Group, where he worked with the Special Situations team. Brent holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Finance from Ithaca College.
Eric Rosenfeld, President and CEO, Crescendo Partners, L.P.
Eric Rosenfeld has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Crescendo Partners, L.P., a New York based investment firm, since its formation in November 1998. Prior to forming Crescendo Partners, he held the position of Managing Director at CIBC Oppenheimer and its predecessor company Oppenheimer & Co., Inc for fourteen years. He was Chairman of the Board of Spar Aerospace Limited from 1999 through 2001. Eric is a director and chairman of the strategic planning committee of CPI Aerostructures, Inc., an American Stock Exchange-listed company engaged in the contract production of structural aircraft parts principally for the United States Air Force and other branches of the U.S. armed forces. He is also a director of AD OPT Technologies, Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed company based in Montreal that provides advanced workforce planning, scheduling and management solutions. He is a director of Sierra Systems Group Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed information technology, management consulting and systems integration firm. Eric is also a director of BCE Emergis Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed electronic commerce company. Eric recently served as a director and head of the special committee of Pivotal Corporation, a Vancouver based customer relations management software company. Eric received an MBA from Harvard University and an AB degree in economics from Brown University.
David Wassong, Managing Director Private Equity, Soros Fund Management LLC
David Wassong has been a partner in the private equity group of Soros Fund Management LLC since 1998, and is currently a managing director of SFM Private Equity. From 1997 to 1998, David served as an associate and then as a vice president at Lauder Gaspar Ventures LLC, a private investment management firm. Prior to joining Lauder Gaspar Ventures LLC, David served as an analyst and then an associate at Schroder Wertheim & Co., Inc., an investment bank. David earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelorís degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
