Rob Newbold - (WG '99)

Rob Newbold is a Managing Principal of Graham Partners, a private investment firm focused on investing in businesses with proprietary technologies, advanced manufacturing know-how, innovative product development capabilities, and strong growth potential.
Rob joined Graham Partners in 1998. Rob, along with the other Managing Principals, shares responsibility for all major aspects of Graham Partners’ investment process, including investment sourcing, structuring, and exiting, as well as working closely with portfolio companies to build lasting value. Additionally, Rob co-heads the firm’s deal sourcing efforts and has coverage responsibility for the general industrial, building products, and water management industry sectors. He also serves on Graham Partners’ Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Graham Partners, Rob was with Investcorp International’s leveraged buyout group in New York and prior to that he worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co in New York, where he split his time between Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance. He also previously worked at McKinsey & Co. in London, and worked for a big-six accounting firm while completing his first Masters.
He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Wharton Alumni Executive Board of Directors and is Co-Chairman of Wharton Private Equity & VC Association. Mr. Newbold serves on the Advisory Boards of Strength Capital Partners, a lower middle-market buyout fund, and Meidlinger Partners, a private equity fund focused on the cleantech sector.
Rob earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1999, where he was a Ford Fellowship recipient (first year Co-Valedictorian), and graduated as a Palmer Scholar. In December 1993, he received both his Bachelors in Business Administration and his Masters in Accounting with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Rob passed the CPA exam early in his career.
