The Harris Family Alternative Investments Program ("Harris Program"), established in 2019, is an innovative initiative at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania designed to expand co-curricular opportunities for Wharton students in the field and bring together alumni and industry experts through events and dynamic programming.
At its core, The Harris Program is a global hub for cutting-edge research produced by Wharton’s distinguished faculty in collaboration with practitioners, policy makers, alumni and students. This research plays a crucial role in Wharton’s leadership in financial economics. Specifically focused on alternative investments, the program supports projects that advance knowledge in this field, delivering insights strategically valuable for decision-makers pursuing excellence in investment practices. The research agenda acknowledges the impact of market dynamics, regulatory shifts, and the increasing globalization of financial services and institutions.
The Harris Program is funded by Josh Harris, a 1986 undergraduate alumnus and the founder of 26North, a next-generation multi-asset class alternatives platform. Before establishing 26North, Josh co-founded Apollo Global Management, serving as a senior managing director and director for over 30 years. Additionally, he is the founder and managing general partner of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment.
