WPEP Membership Eligibility Requirements & Benefits
Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (formerly known as Wharton Private Equity Partners - WPEP), is open to private equity and VC investment professionals who have graduated from The Wharton School or the University of Pennsylvania AND who are investing third party capital in deals. In addition to being a Wharton or UPENN alum, members must also be private equity professionals investing in venture capital, growth capital, mezzanine capital, buyouts, private debt, or secondaries as a general partner are eligible. Also, alum who are limited partners of funds and professionals who manage third party fund-of-funds targeting the private equity space are eligible.
Please note that Wharton PE/VC requires that funds be closed at this time yourapplication is submitted.
At this time, advisors, investment bankers, placement agents, senior lenders, lawyers, consultants, accountants, and other service providers are welcome to participate in many of the club events, and sponsor events, but are structured so that these candidates currently cannot join as members.
If you are not familiar with us already, Wharton PE/VC is the only alumni club
dedicated to connecting and providing industry knowledge and updates to Wharton
private equity professionals (including Venture Capital, Private Equity,Secondaries and Institutional LPs) around the globe. As an active member, you will find Wharton will be a valuable tool you can use to:
- build your network within the Wharton/UPENN investor community
and share ideas with industry peers,
- participate in top level industry conferences and investor only events at great savings,
- receive the print version Wharton Private Equity Review,
- access and post openings to the WPEP Job Board,
- interact with the School as a student mentor, speaker, or contributor to the PE-focused curriculum
Wharton's standing in the private investor community.
Please fill out the on-line application below which will be submitted to the Wharton PE/VC Membership Committee for approval (if your membership has expired and you are not current on your dues, you will be asked to resubmit your information prior to payment). You will not be asked for any financial informaton at this stage (i.e. credit card number). If further clarification is needed, the WPEP Administrator will contact you. Once approved, you will receive authorization via email, and instructions to complete your transaction online.
