2014 Wharton PE & VC Fellow
Join us in welcoming our 2014 Wharton PE/VC Fellow, Jonathan Sockol, a 2016 MBA candidate at The Wharton School.
Jonathan has been elected to serve as Co-President of the student-led Wharton PE & VC Club for the 2015-2016 year. In addition he serves as a member of the Dean’s Graduate Student Advisory Committee, as the Career Chair for his cluster, as an inaugural member of the 22's promoting awareness around gender disparities, as President of the Cocktail Club and Entrepreneurship Club and as the Founder and President of Fit Club.
Previously, he was an associate at Lindsay Goldberg, a $10BN private equity firm based in New York. Prior to that, he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Financial Institutions Groups. Jonathan holds a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also founded and currently serves as the CEO of the Scholar Athlete Fund, a nonprofit organization focusing on providing scholarship and mentorship opportunities to youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.
About the Wharton PE/VC Fellowship:
The Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital
Association’s Fellowship is awarded only to the top newly admitted
Wharton student/s from the private equity/venture industry each year.
Wharton PE & VC Association is the alumni organization for the roughly
3,000 Wharton and UPENN alumni working in the private equity industry
The Wharton PE & VC Fellowship has been established by the Wharton
PE & VC Executive Committee to encourage and support leadership among
Wharton alumni in the top ranks of private equity firms around the
globe. The Fellow becomes a "charter" member of Wharton PE & VC
Association and is eligible to attend member-only programs and dinners
held by the club and its leadership and to be mentored by a member of
the WPEVC Board member during their time as a Fellow. The Fellow also
receives assistance with his/her summer and permanent job search within
the private equity/VC industry from our leadership. The
Fellowship includes a $5,000 grant.
